Local planning guidelines require the gradient of the driveway to be a maximum of 1 in 10. The applicant's plans incorrectly show the maximum height of the driveway to be 1 meter above the footpath when it is actually 1.55 meters. To achieve a gradient of 1 in 10 would require the top of the driveway to be reduced in height by 0.55 meters but the plans do not show how this will be achieved without damaging the roots of the protected trees:
